Walkerton BIA Director Application

The Walkerton Business Improvement Area works to promote the area as a business, shopping and service destination. We also strive to improve, beautify and maintain the area within the BIA, beyond what is provided by the Municipality of Brockton.

Our Board is accountable for being the voice of the Walkerton Bia, representing over 200 businesses in our levied area. Together with the BIA Manager, the Board works to create promotions, events, and beautification projects for the BIA area. The Board works to meet the needs of our members and help bring customers to their businesses through BIA initiatives. 

What does a Board Member do?

• Attend monthly Board Meetings, which are currently being held via Zoom 
• Dedicate time and energy outside of the monthly board meetings to bring the mission
  of the BIA to life
• Display a strong commitment to the Walkerton BIA 
• Understand and align themselves with the BIA mission, vision, and strategic plan
• Respect confidentiality
• Adhere to the principles of respective communications and conduct between staff and board
  members
• Understand that critical policy decisions of the Board should be made in honour of the greater
  good of the BIA membership
• Present an active and ambassador image to the public in representing all sectors of the
  organization
